India Day One - Delhi

I can’t even begin to explain to you how tired I am! I feel like I’ve been living the same day for the last 72 hours.

It started With having to leave early because of snow to get to the airport. 6 hours early to be exact. Then an 8 1/2 hour flight and a seven hour layover in London. Finally, a 9 hour flight to India.

We arrived and Shawn picked us up at the airport where per tradition they presented us with a lay. He then took us to our hotel which was about an hour away and let me just tell you, bit do they drive crazy! I got pretty dang carsick on the way to the hotel. And at one point monkeys ran across the street!!!

We got to the hotel to freshen up and once I got to my room I showered and changed to go... while I was in the room construction was going on above me and pieces of my ceiling and vents from the bathroom cane crashing down... what an adventure already !

We went to Bangla Sahib which was within walking distance of the hotel. They feed $8-10,000 people a day for free there! You have to wash your hands and feet before you can enter, but the building was very beautiful.

We then took a little taxi to get some food. On our ride there (did I mention crazy driving) Bonnie and Susan got rearended. The driver got out saw no damage and we were on our way again!

We had a meal, (I’m still working on letting the food grow on me) then headed out for some shopping. Eventually, our travel and jet lag set in and we headed back to the hotel for some rest.

I must say that was a pretty good first day though if you ask me!
